 Regulateurs Europa has seen an upturn in Rail Traction control business, in recent years. Ongoing development of the Viking range of digital engine control has made it possible for sophisticated control regimes that can help to optimise the delivery of power to the wheels while protecting the machinery.
A significant part of the development process has been to ensure that the RE engine control can communicate with the various locomotive systems that exist. Andy Rogers is the RE traction team leader and the photograph shows him in a Toshiba plant in Japan completing a successful communications protocol test.
The RE service for rail traction doesn’t stop at control. Protection, remote monitoring and data logging can all be provided, using dedicated hardware and software.
